Undocumented Students for Education Equity’s Response to Biden’s Victory

PHOENIX, AZ - We witness something long overdue, Donald Trump has lost his

position as President of the United States of America.

After almost four years of a systematic crusade against the immigrant community and

other vulnerable groups, the American people have rejected Trump’s cruel leadership.

We congratulate newly-elected President Joe Biden and Vice President Kamala Harris

for their victory. We thank the millions of people who volunteered, who worked, and who

voted to get Trump out of office.

However, the work does not stop with this victory. We witness Trump commit various

atrocities to the undocumented community. From child separation to his zero-tolerance

approach toward immigrants, he has done unquantifiable harm to many immigration

policies and programs, like Deferred Action for Childhood Arrival (DACA). The future

Biden administration must undo the harm done and make it better.

We are respectfully asking the new Biden administration to keep its promise and help

the entire undocumented community, not just DACA recipients, so we can truly have a

system that works for everyone.

USEE is proud of all the work done, and we all deserve to rest and bask in our win. But

it’s no time to get complacent because the undocumented community needs the support

now more than ever.
